WATERBURY OBSERVER GRABS AWARDS during the annual convention of the New England Press Association when journalists gathered together in Boston for a weekend to honor the best in the industry.
At the convention Observer publisher John Murray was honored as one of the best weekly columnists in New England. Murray took home top honors in the serious column category for weekly papers of 15,000 to 75,000 circulation.
238 newspapers convened in Boston to honor journalism and 5,000 entries were submitted for consideration. When all was said and done, the Observer was chosen as one of the best newspapers in New England.
